WNYHCC is a coalition of organizations dedicated to finding solutions to the crisis in health care access, quality and affordability.
We engage in educational programs, community action, and grassroots lobbying campaigns to bring about a universal health care system whereby everyone--no matter their occupation, income level, or status--has access to quality affordable health care.
Until our nation's health care system can be fundamentally reformed, we engage in legislative and educational efforts which are aimed at expanding health care access to more people and expanding understanding of our health care system among members of our communities. We continue engage in campaigns to support Medicaid, Medicare, and other sensible policies which provide people with health care access.
Some of our prior efforts include:
- The 2007 WNYHCC Legislative Breakfast , with a panel discussion on the theme of "Improving Access to Health Care - Policy Solutions." The event took place April 28th, 2007 at Bulger Communication Center at Buffalo State College, and brought together a variety of community leaders, legislators, health professionals, and the general public to discuss the current state of health care and possibilities to increase access to quality care. Some pictures from this event:

- Development of a State Legislator "Report Card" in 2006, to assess how well our policymakers were taking action on various pieces of health legislation. To see a copy of the report, click here.
- The Citizens' Congressional Hearing on Health Care Solutions, held in November 2005 in coalition with dozens of other organizations, businesses, insurers, churches, unions, and community groups.
Please keep checking this web site as more activities are being planned. Like healthcare reform, this is a work in progress!
